Mr. Dom Dalpez joined the faculty as our Music Specialist in 2022.
His specialty is the saxophone, but he is a multi-dimensional instrumentalist who plays clarinet, flute, piano, guitar, and ukulele.
Mr. Dalpez started learning clarinet in elementary school and moved to saxophone in high school. His love for music led to majoring in Saxophone Performance in college and eventually obtaining his Masters of Music Performance with a Jazz emphasis from CSU Sacramento. He was the recipient of the Evelyne Day Music Scholarship Fall 2016-Spring 2017.
Mr. Dalpez has been teaching private music lessons throughout his career, but is also an active professional musician who has performed throughout the greater Sacramento and Bay Area since 2015. Notable performances and collaborations include local Grammy award winning trombonist Jamie Dubberly and percussionist Carlos Caro, as well as trombonist Abel Figueroa of Santana, saxophonist Eric Marienthal, Grammy-nominated percussionist John Santos, and Steve Turre of Saturday Night Live. He also had the privilege of being invited to play at the San Diego Jazz Educator's Network (JEN conference). Currently, Mr. Dalpez performs professionally as lead alto/clarinet with 1920s/1930s jazz big band Symphonia Phonotone and wedding/cover band Popular Demand (HIP Entertainment)
